WWII Higgins Boat
The Higgins Boat was a landing craft that was used extensively during WWII, including in the invasion at Normandy. These wooden crafts could carry up to 36 troops and featured a lowerable bow ramp that allowed soldiers to charge from the front of the boat. Today, it is estimated that there are only 12 of these vessels in existence.
The IMM has procured an authentic Higgins Boat and is seeking a Special Exhibit Sponsor to fund the vessel’s extensive restoration. Total sponsorship cost is $10,000. Please contact us for more information.
The IMM currently has six military vehicles in need of restoration. Projects and sponsorship costs vary. Please contact us for more information.
